Press Trip - Paradis Plage

Last week Coffin on Cake PR were lucky enough to invite some of our favorite people from Metro, Zest, Super Super, Mixmag, Marie Claire and Look Magazine to Paradis Plage in Tagahozout - the very first Surf Yoga & Spa Resort in Morocco, all courtesy of Rip Curl.

From enjoying sunset yoga at the beach, to haggling in the Souk in Agadir, our friends in the press surfed with Junior World Surfing Champion Pauline Ado, before relaxing with spa treatments and a traditional Hammam. We feasted on delicious Tagines while wearing traditional Moroccan dresses, watched surf movies in the outdoor cinema, relaxed around a surf-side fire and generally had an awesome time. Here's what some of our guests thought of the experience, we're pretty sure they enjoyed themselves!:

We always look forward to the weekend and seeing all our latest coverage in the glorious supplements, and this weekend was no exception. In addition to some of our wonderful print placements we also spotted a gorgeous ‘Saturday’ sporting the finest in Rip Curl Swimwear.

The very lovely Una Healy from The Saturday's looked amazing on the beach in her Rip Curl Ocean Drive bikini whilst on holiday with her boyfriend, England rugby player Ben Foden. If bikini's aren't your thing then you'll be pleased to know that the Ocean Drive's tropical print is also available in the cutest of one-pieces, a dress and even a beach bag.

Rise With The Fallen

The legendary Jamie Thomas and the US Fallen skate team are hitting the UK this weekend for an exclusive demo and signing as riders including Anthony Shultz, Garrett Hill, Tommy Sandoval, Tom Asta, Jon Dickson, Jack Curtin, and Dane Burman begin the Fallen European Tour.

The two day event will kick-off in the South West on Saturday as the Fallen team head to Cornwall's Mount Hawke Skate Park for a skate demo following an opportunity to meet the riders and bag some signed merchandise and Fallen giveaways at the Fallen in-store signings at both SJ’s Skate Shop,Truro and at Flavour Skate Shop, Newquay. The Fallen after party then opens at Newquay’s Chy Bar on Saturday night before the weekend rounds-up on Sunday with a currently undisclosed demo - the location to be announced at Mount Hawke Skate Park on Saturday.

Always searching for the Ultimate Journey, Rip Curl’s latest Search trip takes us deep in the heart of the Indonesian jungle with five Rip Curl Searchers, as they chase mesmerizing waves on the Seven Ghosts tidal bore.

Tyler Larronde (FRA), Oney Anwar (IND) and original Searcher Tom Curren (USA) followed the latest Tip2Tip odyssey in Indonesia to be part of a ground breaking mission to the freshly discovered, flawless waves of a remote river known by the nearby village as the Seven Ghosts River.

Equipped with Panasonic LUMIX G cameras, a team of world-renowned surf photographers and filmers were in tow to capture this once in a lifetime event, which Curren describes as “the most amazing Search trip in 20 years….

Surf artist Tyler Warren and Rip Curl have come together to create a wonderfully bright collection for Artist Of The Search, including boardshorts, bikinis, bags and dresses. The design that is emblazoned on all pieces captures the essence of "La Isla Encanta", otherwise known as Puerto Rico.

2011 will see a new collaboration with the talented Tyler Warren, already a collaborator on the AW10/11 collection. This young Californian artist, recognised for his creativity, is today a key player in the world of surf art. Apart from exhibitions with the Ando & Friends artists collective, shape sessions with the best surfboard shapers, and surf trips, Tyler has worked with Rip Curl on a wetsuit inspired by a trip to Puerto Rico.

Great places to stay: "For cool apartments in an excellent location stay in The Rocks - you can’t get closer to the slopes and you even have your own steam room in your apartment! If you’re on a budget then the Capricorn Hostel is nice and you can book bunk rooms or have a private twin room with an en-suite."

Cool places hang out: "On the Mountain try the Café No Name, it’s a great location and you can watch all the park action with a drink. For Apres ski action the Crapbar and Indy Bar are great."

The best place to shop: "I really like Flims, the supermarket called COOP is great and there’s plenty of great clothes shops. if you’re travelling with a car there are supermarkets down the valley in Llanz, which is about a 10 minute drive away."

Getting about: "The local buses are free around Laax and Flims and getting to Laax from Zurich airport is easy; use the local rail network, its always on time!"

Cushe have been working hard over the last five years to develop a range of footwear that fits with their eco-friendly ethos. The first shoe in the range is Cushe’s Shucoon. The Shucoon does not need any packaging as it creates it’s own. The Rip Curl Pro - the world's longest running and most prestigious world tour surfing event will this year be celebrating the 50th anniversary of professional surfing at the internationally renowned Bells Beach – in Torquay, Australia's surfing home from April 19 to April 30.
It has long been considered the ‘Wimbledon’ of surfing. The Rip Curl Pro is well known for its traditions and this is what makes it so unique on the ASP World Tour.
Since its early beginnings in the 1960’s, the Rip Curl Pro has always been held over the Easter weekend. It is a pilgrimage that the competitors, event officials and fans make each year, eating their hot cross buns and Easter eggs whilst watching the world’s best surfers battle it out for the iconic bell trophy. To be able to ring the bell at the Rip Curl Pro in front of thousands of people is something that most surfers only dream of. The full-scale metallic bell has become somewhat of a legend and inspired the saying: “you have to win it to ring it”. Only the best surfers in the world are able to ring the bell.
The Rip Curl Pro attracts the world’s best surfers and every event champion is highly respected amongst their peers. This rings true to today with a list of past champions including Michael Peterson, Mark Richards, Lisa Anderson, Layne Beachley, Stephanie Gilmore and Kelly Slater who have each gone on to win numerous Rip Cu rl Pro trophies and world titles.
In 2011 the Rip Curl Pro celebrates 50 years of competition at Bells Beach, and it’s no doubt it will be one to remember as all past champions have also been invited to join in the pilgrimage. It will be the first time the elite group of current world tour surfers and past champions gather together to celebrate what is the Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach.
