SS17 PRESS DAY ROUND UP


The 25th and 26th of October saw us host the SS17 Press Days at our 28 Redchurch Street showroom in the heart of Shoreditch. We presented the best pieces from our clients’ upcoming collections along with clients from our sister agency Gung Ho.

Thank you to all our friends in the press who joined us to make this event such a success. 
We hosted two jam-packed days with the country’s leading editors, stylists, bloggers and influencers. Titles present included Vice, Glamour and Men’s Health to name a few.

The wonderful Palm Vaults team set up a temporary bar in our reception area and kept our guests energised with their Tropicana inspired breakfast bowls, vegan treats, and delicious coloured lattes throughout the day. Bottega Gold meanwhile added some much needed bubbles to proceedings with their refreshing Prosecco, served in eye-catching mini gold bottles.

Event highlights included a first look at New Balance’s exclusive ‘London Cab’ shoe ahead of their official reveal at the launch party of their new European flagship store on Oxford Street.

We were also excited to debut LIV Cycling; the first cycling brand completely dedicated to women, showcasing three stunning styles of LIV bikes in our showrooms, accompanied by the brand’s cycling apparel.
One of our newest additions to the showroom, Norwegian brand Onepiece, impressed guests with subtle pastel tones and their high quality workable fabrics.

Obey Women’s new collection on the other hand incorporated pink hues and embroidery with camo and graphic skater tees in true Obey fashion for an edgy yet feminine feel.

KOMONO’s range of fine watches and sunglasses also proved hugely popular with guests, showcasing these season’s main inspiration behind the collection which came from the bustling medina markets of North Africa.

Puff Piece

Last month saw Stance grace the pages of some of the leading womenswear titles. 

Coverage highlights included being featured on two pages of Vogue’s main fashion editorial 'Puff Piece' in their October issue. 




Starring world famous model Sasha Pivovarova, sporting AW16's cosiest outerwear, we successfully placed Stance ribbed knee high socks alongside high fashion brands such as Chanel, Prada, and Burberry.


Biannual fashion publication LOVE also included Stance in their AW16 issue. The magazine  featured the Fenty x Stance collection, designed in conjunction with Stance's creative director Rihanna, in their editorial 'Pin Up' and saw them modelled by Lara Stone in this 50's inspired shoot.  



Lastly The Telegraph magazine's fashion editor Sophie Warburton featured the new Stance 'Gran Glam' collection in her weekly 'Notebook' column which covers the best and latest in fashion, praising the ‘over-the-top fabrics and eccentric wallpaper prints’ of the styles.

Let's Be Frank

Coffin on Cake PR is proud to be working alongside Red Bull Media House on the global social media and PR launch of Let's Be Frank, a visceral journey through the unseen and unknown world of the big wave surfer from South Africa by Peter Hamblin which is exclusively premiering on Red Bull TV on 19th September 2016.

Based on the supposed double life of South African big wave surfer Frank James Solomon, this out-of-the-box surf film is set in a “conspiracy theory”, where the lines of myth, legend and reality are increasingly blurred.  Featuring hit men, drag queens and layer cake, and starring familiar faces from the surfing world appearing in unfamiliar situations, this 50 minute film will take you on an intercontinental clandestine investigation leading to ask the question... Just who is Frank?  A gambler?  A playboy?  How is he funding his travels?  And how does he negotiate his sponsorship deals?  Ask yourself as well, if you were a conspirator, what storytelling references would you use?

This action-led fictional non-fiction film pairs a stylized 50’s colour palette with an inquisitive storyline and is accompanied by an haunting original music score from three-time Grammy Award winner and surfer Ben Harper, alongside Jesse Ingalls and Jason Mozersky.

Let’s Be Frank is an immersive experience navigating through the perceived worlds of one of the most respected big wave chargers on the planet and will leave you asking – Who really is Frank Solomon?

KITTED OUT FOR THE BIG EVENT


To celebrate the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio, Stance has released a range of 4 patriotically themed socks that we placed in a variety of style and lifestyle publications.
The Telegraph Magazine included a feature on the socks as part of their weekly Notebook page where they were described as perfect for a "flag-waving opportunity".


Monthly sports title Forever Sports also featured the Stance olympic socks. Included in their "Most Wanted" list, they appeared alongside Topman, Adidas and Paul Smith.


Meanwhile we also placed the socks in weekly men's title Coach where they were part of an Olympic themed product page entitled 'Kitted out for the big event' which also included brands such as Asics, Eastpak and Timex.

Superlative Simplicity

As part of our work with luxury British leather accessory brand Forbes & Lewis we have been reaching out to a selection of leading international male and female digital influencers. 

Choosing from a selection of fine leather rucksacks, totes and holdalls, they gave us their unique styling take on their chosen pieces and showed it off via their social channels and blogs with a combined audience on Instagram of 203,000 so far. 


Favourite placements so far have included London based style blogger Mpho Lebajao featuring the Somerset Vintage holdall on her instagram to her audience of 61,200 followers as well as leading menswear blogger and serial traveller Rudy Lauer from the Parisian Man including his Hampshire messenger bag as part of one of his regular outfit posts. 


Another highlight included Creative Director of menswear blog Style Division, Anton Dee, styling his Oxford tote gift during his visit to Paris Couture week.

Essential Menswear Accessories

A selection of recent menswear accessory coverage highlights have included contemporary British accessory brand Campbell & Cole being featured in weekend supplement The Observer Magazine. One of their timeless leather coin purses was placed by us in Helen Seamon's regular '5 Ways To Wear' feature alongside J Crew, Retrosuperfuture and Nixon.




We also successfully secured a placement in Shortlist’s six page ‘Bags of Style’ feature for leather goods specialist brand Forbes & Lewis, whose khaki tote bag was described as being able to "soften the hard edge of a tailored suit without looking too casual.


Meanwhile premium footwear brand Clae appeared in weekly menswear style publication Coach as part of their regular 'The Details' page, chosen as one of their picks for best desert boots.

Farah Tailoring

This AW16 sees the exciting launch of Farah menswear’s new tailoring range. Known for their menswear wardrobe staples this season Farah menswear branches out into the world of tailoring; creating classic pieces that compliment modern life and guarantee instant style. 


The collection consists of a selection of 3 piece suiting and separates, including classic styles such as single and double breasted jackets, trousers, and waistcoats.


Inspiration for the collection comes from German industrial designer Dieter Rams, who is considered to be one of the world’s greatest product designers and whose work  in the 60s and 70s is considered as some of the most innovative of all-time. 

His unobtrusive approach and belief in simple design generated timeless appeal and quality in his products. Farah’s Tailoring range continues Rams’ pursuit of minimalist design and incorporates his ethos of refined simplicity. Farah has chosen a tactile range of fabrics and colours to construct the suits. These include fine twills in burgundy and brilliant blue and textured hopsack in bottle green and light tan. 


The tailoring range has already been featured by GQ who coined the collection as 'suitable for any young guy' and included it as part of their '13 Best Menswear Items In The World This Week'. It also appeared in the July issue of Men's Health where it was placed in their monthly 'Style Digest' round-up. Our full page placement in Attitude magazine focused on the design details in the range, supporting 'Farah's step into the suiting world.'

Roxy x Courrèges


Roxy has collaborated with French fashion house Courrèges to create a unique collection with the Courrèges vision of architecture and structure working in unison with Roxy’s technical material expertise.

The collection is inspired by the minimalist and avant-garde style of Courrèges, combining a quality clothing design and technical reliability, with an in-depth knowledge of technical outerwear from ROXY. Materials used include light neoprene, jersey and recycled polyamide, all running and swimming pieces are protected with UV50. There is an increasing demand for high-end sportswear with many people looking for performance gear that’s technical, well cut, comfortable and made from high quality fabrics. This collaboration is represented by 6x surfing world surf champion and Roxy ambassador Stephanie Gilmore who embodies sporting excellence with a refined, chic style.



As part of the international launch, highlights of our coverage have seen the collection featured in The Sunday Times’ weekly Style magazine as well as The Times online, where the white swimsuit was amongst their ‘This week we’re buying…’ feature. Another of our key placements saw a cropped swim top from the new collection in weekly fashion supplement ES magazine, where fashion features director Tilly Macalister-Smith noted the piece as part of ‘summer’s hottest new swimwear’. 



Furthermore we secured a double page spread in The Daily Telegraph's weekend supplement telegraph magazine, where style editor Sophie Warburton complimented the collection's 'technical expertise' and 'future aesthetic'.



Other Roxy highlights include a feature in the main fashion editorial that we secured in the Financial Time’s weekend supplement, ‘How To Spend It’, styled as part of their ‘carnivelesque’ shoot by Millicent SimonOur placement Grazia saw the new range labelled as 'a super-cool capsule activewear collection.'

Kids Press Day AW16


We are proud to be hosting our first children's wear specific Press Day for global distributor Brand Machine on 25th May at our showroom in the heart of Shoreditch. We will be showcasing the AW16 kids collections from the likes of Nike, Converse, Ben Sherman, Hurley, Original Penguin, Lyle and Scott and Nike Jordans.


Inviting key parenting journalists and bloggers as well as their little ones, we will be hosting a fun filled day with healthy refreshments provided by the great teams at Rude Health, Rebel Milk, Supertreats and POW Water. 


We have also teamed up with Go Outside The Lines, who specialise in custom colouring in art, to keep the kids busy and entertained whilst their parents get a chance to look at the collections. King Of The Booths will also be on hand to capture the day with a photobooth print out and gif machine.

High Summer Essentials

With the warmer season well on it's way here is a selection of recent press highlights that cover all your summer essentials. 

A selection of SS16 Roxy wetsuits were placed by us in Cosmopolitan’s annual travel special, while a piece of Roxy swimwear appeared on Grazia’s weekly  ‘Fit File’ page as "an essential to catch the waves in".



We also secured features for Quay Australia's summer range in several shopping pages including the i Newspaper’s ’10 Best Women’s sunglasses’ and  Look magazines 'Save vs Splurge' page were they appeared alongside brands such as Whistles, Le Specs and Jeepers Peepers.



Meanwhile JuJu Footwear was included in weekly music publication NME where one of their classic jelly sandals appeared as part of the regular ‘Things We Like page. A classic JuJu welly boot was furthermore placed by us in daily newspaper The Metro as part of a festival edit.
